We've Given In

...to the pacifer. We're well aware of the discussion about nipple confusion, tooth devepment, ear infections etc... but we've decided that Paige needs to suck to be happy and comfortable. From the late afternoon to the late evening, she will be comforted by swaddling, white noise, bouncing etc.. but once we put her down, she'll wake up crying again. Sucking, it seems, is a great comfort maintainer. No, we're not shoving the pacifer towards her to shut her up, rather we're using it as an adjunct to all the other means of making her comfortable and happy. Hopefully, we don't become addicted to it. Ask us in 3 months.

  • Great job!! Some kids need the sucking more than others. Plus, maybe now, Megan and you can get a bit of a break!! You deserve it!!
